Dingle is recognised, world-wide, as a thriving arts community. Over the last fifteen years, Beehive Theatre Company Ltd. has established itself as a leading practitioner of theatre in the south-west region with regular coverage in the press and media, both locally and nationally. The success of Beehive Theatre Co. is due, in part, to the enterprise of individuals and volunteers. We produce a mix of established repertoire as well as commissioning new work from local, national and international writers and we have toured throughout Kerry and to Cork, Dublin and Listowel Writer’s Festival. Now partly funded by Pobal, in recognition of its contribution to the artistic life of the community, Beehive Theatre Co. relies upon support from the private sector to develop and deliver its services.

In addition to providing first class entertainment Beehive Theatre Co. functions as a resource for the whole community; supporting arts and drama in West Kerry, acting classes for children and adults, technical expertise and workshops in all areas of the performing arts. Beehive Theatre Co. also facilitates the events of other local organisations, festivals, and individuals. From professional and community productions the respect and goodwill that The Beehive has engendered within the local community is a mark of its success, and Beehive’s ambitious new season seeks to build on this.
