Welcome to Beehive Theatre Company
Situated on the west coast of Ireland, Beehive Theatre Company is Europe's westernmost theatre. Over the last thirteen years, the company has established itself as a leading centre for theatre in West Kerry and the southwest region and has produced a well-balanced mix of established plays as well as new, innovative scripts drawing on the talents of local and international writers.
Beehive is a community based theatre company providing professional training and production opportunites for individuals and groups in the region.
Recent productions include the much acclaimed 'Theatre Shorts', a production resulting from Beehive's innovative New Writing Competition 2005 and subsequent Festival of New Writing. Three plays from 'Theatre Shorts' toured to the Dublin Fringe Festival 2005. The enigmatic 'Green' by Beehive's Playwright-in-Residence Mike Venner played at The Studio in 2006 and 'The Christmas Hit', a musical comedy also by Mike, was a hit with audiences young and old for New Year 2007.
