Be careful what you wish for…

A little girl dreams. She wishes she had a fairy godmother to help her escape from her stepmother. She wakes up slap-bang in the middle of the fairy tales she is addicted to, with herself as the Princess, and a young prince for company. The prince leads her into a dark forest and leaves her there. She means Baba Yaga, who looks strangely familiar, and who sends her deeper into the world of little witches and dwarves - not an easy place for the young princess to grow up, especially with a wicked stepmother on the warpath.

Witchswitch is the latest play written for Beehive by playwright-in-residence, Mike Venner. This enchanting subversive, alarming and often hilarious tale is performed by local children, with the help of some of Beehive's best grownup actors.

There is live music, dancing and plenty of twists and turns to keep everyone guessing right up till the end.

And they lived happily ever after… didn't they?
