Wendela Rosenberg... has inspired the cast to greatness. Beehive's production deserves to tour and deserves a sponsor... it should not be missed." The Examiner
Brian Friel's masterpiece 'Dancing at Lughnasa` deals with love, loss and beliefs. Set in rural Donegal in the 1930s, the play deals with the impact of the depression, both socially and culturally, on the Mundy family.
'Beehive Theatre Company treat these various themes with sensitivity and imagination. The cast is very strong and the acting is excellent. The actors skilfully knit the many parts of this play together. Crazed dancing and wild singing powerfully convey the fun and desperation of the tragic Mundy sisters. Similarly, the relationships are interpreted with passion and poignancy. The set is simple yet authentic. The music, which is so much a feature of this play, is wonderfully atmospheric.
This is a great opportunity to see a marvellous play performed by a multitalented theatre group. Don't miss it!' Kerryman
"I have just enjoyed the best performance of Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa that I have ever seen. Well actually I have enjoyed it twice." The Irish Independent
"It
compares favourably with anything the Abbey has done with the Friel play...
this is superb theatre, played and directed with extraordinary passion."
